About Landal Village l’Eau d’Heure, Belgium, Wallonia

Tucked away in beautiful Ardenneson the Belgian-French border, Landal Village l’Eau d’Heure enjoys an idyllic setting beside Lac de la Plate Taille, the largest of five magnificent man-made lakes. A superb base in a unique area uniting the peace and tranquillity of water with a wealth of unusual historic attractions - perfect for a European holiday with a difference!

Landal Village L’Eau d’Heure boasts an incredible 1800 watery acres - here you can sail, waterski, dive, jet-ski, surf and canoe to your heart’s content.

A specially designed beach and promenade, luxurious indoor pool and spraypark array of facilities promises relaxation for waterbabies and landlubbers alike, while the village also hosts an eco-museum, aquarium, miniature of the area, dam tours and a tower commanding panoramic views. Wallonia, the largely undiscovered, French-speaking southern half of Belgium, is a rich landscape stretching from the rolling hills of its north through plateaux sliced by deep river gorges to the densely forested slopes of the Ardennes in its south. Renowned for the diversity of its delicious beer, peppered with historic castles and housing most of Belgium’s forests, this lovely region is a rare jewel in Europe’s crown. With over 300km of signposted paths for walking, horse riding, cycling and mountain biking, this is a countryside begging leisurely exploration.

The local prehistoric caves and Rance woods are a must, as is nearby Chimay, home to the Trappist monks famous for brewing beer. Caves abound, including unmissable Neptunus in Nismes, with its underground cruise and sound-light show. The Phillipville galleries and picturesque Beaumont are nearby, many more quaint towns, the Meuse valley and spectacular Dinant gorge are all easily accessible.

Just returned from our week at Darwin Forest for February half term, which was fabulous. We stayed in a Chatsworth Elite 2 Bedroom lodge which was warm and toasty even though there were blizzard conditions outside for our first couple of days. From our welcome at Reception, to the staff at Evolution, and those running the activities we booked for our 8-year old (archery and waterwalkerz), everyone was friendly and helpful. There's plenty to do in the area, and we will definitely return. Thanks!!

We have never visited Darwin Forest Holiday Park before, but we had a fantastic holiday and were very impressed with how well the Park was organised and managed. The Lodge was exceptionally well equipped and furnished, as well as being spotlessly clean. The facilities on the site were excellent, especially the swimming pool and the the Foresters Restaurant. The surrounding countyside was ideal for walking, and we will definitely be coming back for another holiday.

Love this place! Home from from with peace and relaxation. Lodges are well equipped, clean and inviting. Just hope it's popularity doesn't change anything.

This was one of the best holidays we've ever had and will definitely go again, we went to see the dark skies and hopefully the aurora borealis and were not disappointed. The lodge was great especially the hot tub which we loved , never having been in one before

We had such a fantastic time, my children lost their tiny minds with how wonderful the place was. Pool, park and squirrels what more could you ask for. The staff made the experience even better, from skilled archery instructor to extremely knowledgeable reception staff who helped us plan our weekend away even in the off season.

We had a fantastic 4days at Keilder. The lodge was lovely, very clean and warm. There was everything we needed and the staff were on hand when we requested information on the area. One of our party made use of the pool and sauna facilities. We ate in the bar/restaurant twice during our stay. The food was exceptionally good and reasonably priced. The area is outstanding with lovely walks straight from the lodge. No need to use your car if you want a complete break.. unfortunately it was cloudy day and night so we didn't see the dark skies but we will certainly be going back for another try. Thank you to the friendly staff who made sure we had a really good experience.
