By car
- Route 1: Take the motorway (A12/E36 in the Netherlands, the A3 in Germany) to Oberhausenerkreuz interchange, then follow signs to Köln (Cologne) as far as the Leverkusenerkreuz interchange. Turn right here onto the A1 towards Aachen/Aix-la-Chapelle, then via the Köln-Noord motorway to the Kreuz Köln-West motorway. Keep driving straight on, at first on the A1, which later becomes the A61. Follow the A61 (N.B. Check your fuel gauge here, because the following petrol station is 90 km away) towards Koblenz-Trier. Do not take the exit for Trier/Euskirchen, which is a 2-lane road. At the Koblenz interchange follow directions for Trier (A48). Exit 125 for Wittlich-Mitte. Turn right towards Wittlich. At the second set of traffic lights turn right towards Cochem. At the next set of traffic lights go straight on and keep on following this road as far as Urzig. In Urzig, after about 450 metres, turn left uphill towards Traben-Trarbach-Kröv. At the next intersection follow directions for Traben-Trarbach (Bergstrecke) and continue along this road to Landal Mont Royal.
- Route 2: From Luik/Liège via E40 to Aachen/Aix-la-Chapelle, then E42 towards St. Vith. In Germany this road continues as the E42/B60, A60 and B51 to Bitburg and Trier. Take the exit Wittlich-Mitte towards Wittlich. Keep following signs for Wittlich. Continue on the through road at Wittlich until you reach the traffic lights. Go straight on towards Cochem and follow this road as far as Urzig. From Urzig, see the directions above.
Public Transport
If you want to go to Landal Mont Royal by public transportation then it is best to fly to Köln/Bonn (Airport) or Frankfurt (Airport) and then take the train to the central station in Traben-Trarbach. The travel time from Köln/Bonn (Airport) to Traben-Trarbach station takes around two hours and forty-six minutes and from Frankfurt (Airport) two hours and thirty-seven minutes. Next you can take a taxi from the station; this trip takes about 5 minutes. Reservations can be made at the Bucke taxi exchange (tel. no. 06541-56 12). The fare is +/- € 8.00. The park will reimburse the cost for the arrival and departure days upon delivery of the receipt.
