To Harlingen Harbour
Travelling by car
If you are travelling from the IJsselmeer Dam or Sneek on the A7, follow the ANWB signs for the Harlingen haven exit approximately 4 km before Harlingen. If you are travelling from Leeuwarden on the A31, follow the signs for the Harlingen haven exit approximately 2 km before Harlingen.
Parking in Harlingen
A car park is available near the ferry quay that is guarded day and night. In the summer season, from 15-06 to 01-09, this car park will be open from the arrival of the first boat until 20:00. During the early and late season, including spring half-term, autumn half-term and Christmas holidays, the car park will be open from one hour before to one hour after the arrival of the ferries. The prices per calendar day are € 4.00 for a family car, € 10.50 for a coach and € 2.10 for a motor bike. It is not possible to book in advance. A single ticket for the shuttle service costs € 1.10 per person.
There is also a short stay, multi-storey car park next to the ferry terminal. The maximum rates are € 6.10 per day and € 3.00 per night. You can obtain additional information by calling +31 (0517) 42 01 03. You can also park your car in a multi-storey car park. However, it is essential to book this in advance. Travelling by train
During the day, all the trains continue all the way to the Harlingen Haven station. The trains leave on the whole hour from Harlingen Haven to Leeuwarden. Travelling by bus
There are direct bus connections to Harlingen Haven from Alkmaar (Q-Liner) and Leeuwarden (NoordNed/CONNEXXION). Not all services are synchronised with the ferry timetables to Terschelling. Ferry timetable
The ferry services between Harlingen and Terschelling are run by Rederij Doeksen.
They have three ships that sail between the island and the mainland every day. You can book tickets via their website

Your arrival
There will be taxis and busses waiting for you on the harbour plaza in West-Terschelling to take you to your destination on the island.
Bus timetables
Busses run throughout the year from West-Terschelling to Oosterend and always connect with the ferry arrival and departure times. During the period from May to November, a service will also operate to the West aan Zee and Midsland aan Zee areas. A night bus will operate from 21:00 to 02:00 during the holiday periods and on Saturdays.
Taxi
There are also a large number of taxis on the island that can take you to your holiday destination. The taxis will be waiting for on the harbour premises you when you arrive in Terschelling. It is not possible to book a taxi in advance. Addresses are available from
