By car
There is a modern and frequent ferry service from Holwerd to Ameland. After arriving on the island, you can take the following route. Drive out of the harbour (Reeweg) until you meet the roundabout. Go three quarters of the way around the roundabout and turn left onto the Achterdijken. Keep following this road until the T-junction. Turn right onto the Ballerumweg and head towards the centre. At the Rixt van intersection between Doniaweg and Strandweg, turn left onto the Strandweg. Keep following this road until you see the Landal Ameland State apartment block on your left.
