Surrounded by the lush green forests and picturesque cities of Germany’s North West Rhine Westphalia, Landal Eifeler Tor is an amazing hilltop holiday location with breathtaking views of the Rur River and Eifel National Park. Located on the edge of Lake Rursee, spot the touring boats gliding gently over its still waters, or hop on board with the family for an afternoon sightseeing. Closeby, medieval cities like Heimbach and Monschau are filled with pretty, half-timbered houses along its narrow streets and cobblestone lanes, providing a fascinating window into Germany’s past. It’s also the place to go for a boutique shopping experience. On-site, 95 bungalows and 74 apartments stagger the hilltop, offering a peaceful escape into one of the country’s most idyllic destinations. With both indoor and outdoor pools available, and a sailing school nearby, you’re sure to make a splash this holiday. Visit the villages and impressive castles, fortresses and cloisters found in the surrounding area. Indulge in traditional German fare with our home-brewed beer from the local Heimbach Brauhaus. And after a hard day’s exploring, return to your relaxing lodge or the indulgent warmth of a Turkish steam bath – the perfect way to end your day. During summertime, spend lazy afternoons by the lake. Take a quick dip in its refreshing waters and cool off after a scorching sun session waterside. Or challenge yourself along one of the many hiking trails in the area. The Kylltal Fiets route takes you through light, hilly terrain – perfect for a family-friendly expedition. While the Eifel-height route requires a little more legwork. But it’s all worth it. Keep climbing and reward yourself with stunning, panoramic views of the peaks above and valleys below.

It is the most beautiful relaxing place which is why we keep coming back!
Just returned from our week at Darwin Forest for February half term, which was fabulous. We stayed in a Chatsworth Elite 2 Bedroom lodge which was warm and toasty even though there were blizzard conditions outside for our first couple of days. From our welcome at Reception, to the staff at Evolution, and those running the activities we booked for our 8-year old (archery and waterwalkerz), everyone was friendly and helpful. There's plenty to do in the area, and we will definitely return. Thanks!!
We have never visited Darwin Forest Holiday Park before, but we had a fantastic holiday and were very impressed with how well the Park was organised and managed. The Lodge was exceptionally well equipped and furnished, as well as being spotlessly clean. The facilities on the site were excellent, especially the swimming pool and the the Foresters Restaurant. The surrounding countyside was ideal for walking, and we will definitely be coming back for another holiday.
Lovely stay, clean lodge, great location, would highly recommend
Love this place! Home from from with peace and relaxation. Lodges are well equipped, clean and inviting. Just hope it's popularity doesn't change anything.
This was one of the best holidays we've ever had and will definitely go again, we went to see the dark skies and hopefully the aurora borealis and were not disappointed. The lodge was great especially the hot tub which we loved , never having been in one before
We had such a fantastic time, my children lost their tiny minds with how wonderful the place was. Pool, park and squirrels what more could you ask for. The staff made the experience even better, from skilled archery instructor to extremely knowledgeable reception staff who helped us plan our weekend away even in the off season.
Lovely relaxing break. Hot tub was fab. Lovely lodge immaculate everything u need included
We had a fantastic 4days at Keilder. The lodge was lovely, very clean and warm. There was everything we needed and the staff were on hand when we requested information on the area. One of our party made use of the pool and sauna facilities. We ate in the bar/restaurant twice during our stay. The food was exceptionally good and reasonably priced. The area is outstanding with lovely walks straight from the lodge. No need to use your car if you want a complete break.. unfortunately it was cloudy day and night so we didn't see the dark skies but we will certainly be going back for another try. Thank you to the friendly staff who made sure we had a really good experience.
we ate out a couple times in the bar both times very good meals & good value for money leisure facilities were clean & well organised all staff very helpful
