Just returned from our week at Darwin Forest for February half term, which was fabulous. We stayed in a Chatsworth Elite 2 Bedroom lodge which was warm and toasty even though there were blizzard conditions outside for our first couple of days. From our welcome at Reception, to the staff at Evolution, and those running the activities we booked for our 8-year old (archery and waterwalkerz), everyone was friendly and helpful. There's plenty to do in the area, and we will definitely return. Thanks!!
We have never visited Darwin Forest Holiday Park before, but we had a fantastic holiday and were very impressed with how well the Park was organised and managed. The Lodge was exceptionally well equipped and furnished, as well as being spotlessly clean. The facilities on the site were excellent, especially the swimming pool and the the Foresters Restaurant. The surrounding countyside was ideal for walking, and we will definitely be coming back for another holiday.

Love this place! Home from from with peace and relaxation. Lodges are well equipped, clean and inviting. Just hope it's popularity doesn't change anything.
This was one of the best holidays we've ever had and will definitely go again, we went to see the dark skies and hopefully the aurora borealis and were not disappointed. The lodge was great especially the hot tub which we loved , never having been in one before
We had such a fantastic time, my children lost their tiny minds with how wonderful the place was. Pool, park and squirrels what more could you ask for. The staff made the experience even better, from skilled archery instructor to extremely knowledgeable reception staff who helped us plan our weekend away even in the off season.

We had a fantastic 4days at Keilder. The lodge was lovely, very clean and warm. There was everything we needed and the staff were on hand when we requested information on the area. One of our party made use of the pool and sauna facilities. We ate in the bar/restaurant twice during our stay. The food was exceptionally good and reasonably priced. The area is outstanding with lovely walks straight from the lodge. No need to use your car if you want a complete break.. unfortunately it was cloudy day and night so we didn't see the dark skies but we will certainly be going back for another try. Thank you to the friendly staff who made sure we had a really good experience.

Plenty of activity awaits at Landal Esonstad! Make a splash in the pool, relax on the recreational beach or hire a bike and explore. Take to the water in a pedalo or canoe, practice golf on the pitch and putt course or play a game of tennis. The list of activities here will ensure there is something to keep everyone entertained.
Choose from a selection of well prepared meals at Brasserie De Waegh, or eat pancakes at Pannenkoeken restaurant. From fish and chips to Stadcafé and pizzeria Uccello, there is a good variety of eateries for all the family.
After swimming lengths in the pool why not relax in the sauna or Turkish bath. You can also find a variety of spa treatments on the park including massages, facial treatments and a manicurist.
Close by is Lawersmeer National Park. This beautiful expanse of land and water is a must for anyone with a love for nature. From unusual flowers to birds and uninterrupted views, there is so much to discover here. Take to your bike or pull on your walking boots or if you prefer you can even explore from the water.
Ever wanted to visit a seal sanctuary? Well now is your chance. There are guided tours available on selected days of the week which allows you to take a peek at life in the seal hospital. A truly memorable experience for all the family.
For a unique touring experience you could always visit Tuk Tuk Lauwersoog. Here you can hire your very own Tuk Tuk. Explore villages and countryside along the way with pre planned routes already provided for you. Tour the beautiful Frisian and Groninger country in this quirky mode of transport, sure to be fun for all the family.
Take the kids to DoeZoo Insect World and test their nerve with some creepy critters and snakes on show, as well as animals and natural gardens.
Explore Estate Borg Verhildersum. A driveway lined with trees takes you up to this stunning building. This estate tells the story of the nobility compared to the peasantry of its time. A wonderful insight into the history of the building and the lives that blessed it through the years.
