It is the most beautiful relaxing place which is why we keep coming back!
Just returned from our week at Darwin Forest for February half term, which was fabulous. We stayed in a Chatsworth Elite 2 Bedroom lodge which was warm and toasty even though there were blizzard conditions outside for our first couple of days. From our welcome at Reception, to the staff at Evolution, and those running the activities we booked for our 8-year old (archery and waterwalkerz), everyone was friendly and helpful. There's plenty to do in the area, and we will definitely return. Thanks!!
We have never visited Darwin Forest Holiday Park before, but we had a fantastic holiday and were very impressed with how well the Park was organised and managed. The Lodge was exceptionally well equipped and furnished, as well as being spotlessly clean. The facilities on the site were excellent, especially the swimming pool and the the Foresters Restaurant. The surrounding countyside was ideal for walking, and we will definitely be coming back for another holiday.
Lovely stay, clean lodge, great location, would highly recommend
Love this place! Home from from with peace and relaxation. Lodges are well equipped, clean and inviting. Just hope it's popularity doesn't change anything.
This was one of the best holidays we've ever had and will definitely go again, we went to see the dark skies and hopefully the aurora borealis and were not disappointed. The lodge was great especially the hot tub which we loved , never having been in one before
We had such a fantastic time, my children lost their tiny minds with how wonderful the place was. Pool, park and squirrels what more could you ask for. The staff made the experience even better, from skilled archery instructor to extremely knowledgeable reception staff who helped us plan our weekend away even in the off season.
Lovely relaxing break. Hot tub was fab. Lovely lodge immaculate everything u need included
We had a fantastic 4days at Keilder. The lodge was lovely, very clean and warm. There was everything we needed and the staff were on hand when we requested information on the area. One of our party made use of the pool and sauna facilities. We ate in the bar/restaurant twice during our stay. The food was exceptionally good and reasonably priced. The area is outstanding with lovely walks straight from the lodge. No need to use your car if you want a complete break.. unfortunately it was cloudy day and night so we didn't see the dark skies but we will certainly be going back for another try. Thank you to the friendly staff who made sure we had a really good experience.
we ate out a couple times in the bar both times very good meals & good value for money leisure facilities were clean & well organised all staff very helpful
With miles of picturesque countryside to explore, whether on dramatic mountain bike routes or awe-inspiring hikes across the plateau, it’s easy to stay active at Landal Reeuwijkse Plassen. From adventure islands to swimming pools, tranquil fishing on the lake to days on the beach, you can enjoy an active break, both inside and out of the park.
Enjoy a traditional taste of Holland from Landal Reeuwijkse Plassen. Take a short walk beyond the park, where the restaurant Paviljoen Reeuwijkse Hout serves up a delicious range of regional dishes. Order an organic ice cream from the park’s on-site parlour. Or come along for a quick coffee and bite to eat at the Coffee Corner Osteria. There are also various snack bars throughout the park, so you can load up on goodies for a picnic with the family.
Children can spend the day helping to look after the animals on this active working farm, from feeding the ponies and goats to stroking the adorable rabbits. Pay a visit to the beautiful butterfly garden and watch the bees work as they come and go. Have a tasty treat to energise your afternoon, then blow off some steam on the playground or predict the future at the weather station.
Gouda is an attractive, ancient city in South Holland, where much of its history and heritage is still largely on display to this day. Pretty courtyards, bustling canals and market stalls, as well as a network of tiny, winding backstreets make the city perfect for exploring. Enjoy a wealth of shopping opportunities, from fashion boutiques to gourmet diners in the centre of town. There’s more than enough to keep you busy for a long afternoon in this special city.
Visit Fort Wierickerschans, part of the Oude Hollandse Waterlinie, that once marked the boundary between the Roman Empire and the ‘barbarian north’ in centuries past. Now fully restored, this modern structure is surrounded by an impressive moat and fortified by tall strips of trees. A true spectacle of the Netherlands, it’s a must see when visiting.
You can’t visit Gouda without sampling some of their fresh-off-the-shelf treats. World-renowned for their delicious cheeses, head down to the De Graaf Dairy Farm, where you can experience a guided tour to learn what goes into making this traditional delicacy. But we all know everybody’s favourite part comes at the end – the tasting session!
