The lodge was not very clean as it must have been used for a hen party and there was still pink ribbons hanging from the curtain poles and the windows inside and out were disgusting with splashes and hand marks down the glass. We were told when we booked that there would be a daily maid service which never ever appeared, Our previous lodge last year was fantastic so I hope this was a one off and not developing into the normal standard. everything else top marks except for The Boat Restaurant very little change to the menu from last year the menu is like that of a motorway café every thing fried and no proper lip smacking meals.

Lodge 35 was outstanding. The hot tub was absolutely unreal. It was big enough for six people with space for double that. The lodge itself was extremely well maintained and very clean. We would certainly go back. One thing I would improve would be privacy in hot tubs to n the new lodges, but it certainly isn't an issue which would prevent us booking this lodge again.

Only disappointment was when the swim tub power failed. But the maintenance man came straight away and effected quite a complex repair on the Sunday evening. We would also have liked to be able to turn off the outside lights to use the telescope better. Other than that it was clean and comfortable with great showers. All the staff on site were very friendly and helpful. On site restaurant a mixed experience. Most of the food was delicious apart from the green veg which was undercooked and strangely flavoured. Sticky toffee pudding was superb. Ambience spoilt by the presence of smelly dogs - not really appropriate to a relatively high cost Sunday lunch. If people must bring their dogs in then the restaurant should be segregated like in the old days of smoking and non smoking!

The year old Willow Platinum Swim lodge was fitted out to be very high specification and had plenty of space for the four of us. The blinds in the bedrooms were fiddly but everything else was top drawer including the very large hot tub. The forest lodges are set in trees a short walk above the main site buildings and as such have automatic lights that come on after darkness an unintended consequence is the attraction of insects in an area where you might have an open bedroom window.
