Your next getaway to the Betuwe: discover Landal De Wielsche Dreef
This summer, Landal will open Landal De Wielsche Dreef, a new holiday destination set in the heart of the Betuwe region. Surrounded by expansive orchards, rivers and historic dykes, the resort offers a contemporary retreat for guests seeking tranquillity, nature and a true regional experience. De Wielsche Dreef can be booked via the Landal website and will welcome its first guests on 31 July 2026.
A destination shaped by the Betuwe landscape
De Wielsche Dreef has been designed with the surrounding landscape as its starting point. The homes are spaciously arranged, offering abundant natural light and views across the open Betuwe countryside. Large windows, modern interiors and generous outdoor spaces enhance the sense of peace and openness.
The accommodation offering ranges from two-person wellness lodges to twelve-person family homes, making the destination suitable for a variety of guests:
- Couples seeking relaxation in a natural setting
- Families who value space and nearby activities
- Seniors who prioritise peace and quality time together
- Groups of friends looking for a spacious and luxurious stay combined with an active or relaxing nature holiday
The Betuwe as a year-round destination
The Betuwe is one of the most characteristic regions of the Netherlands. In spring, orchards bloom in soft pink, while summer and late summer revolve around fruit, harvest and local produce. From the resort, various walking and cycling routes lead guests through orchards, along the Nederrijn and through picturesque villages.
For more active guests, the area offers plenty of opportunities, including:
- Canoeing or paddleboarding on the River Linge
- Walking and cycling
- Visiting pick-your-own gardens and fruit farms
Thanks to its central location, De Wielsche Dreef is an ideal base for exploring different parts of the Netherlands, while there is also plenty to discover nearby. A short ferry crossing over the Nederrijn brings you to the Utrechtse Heuvelrug, known for its wooded hills, extensive walking trails and scenic views.
Although the resort itself offers the tranquillity of the countryside, several attractions are within easy reach. These include historic estates and castles such as Kasteel Amerongen and Landgoed Mariënwaerdt. Families can visit Ouwehands Dierenpark, while culture enthusiasts can explore museums such as Flipje & Streekmuseum and the Airborne Museum. The area offers an accessible and versatile combination of nature, culture and recreation—perfect for a carefree holiday close to home.
Phased opening with careful development
De Wielsche Dreef will open on 31 July 2026 with 39 new two-, four- and six-person holiday homes in various categories, including comfort, luxury and extra-luxury wellness. Larger accommodations for eight, ten and twelve guests will follow later in the year.
At opening, the resort will already feature a reception, a park shop with fresh bread, bicycle rental and a temporary indoor playground.
Investment opportunity
Within Phase 1, a limited number of plots are still available for sale. The properties can be placed into the rental programme immediately upon the park’s opening. For more information, please visit the website of Landal Makelaardij.
Two new Landal destinations that complement each other
With the opening of De Wielsche Dreef, Landal further expands the diversity of its portfolio, following the earlier introduction of Landal Zeezigt on the coast. While guests there enjoy the beach, sea and fresh coastal air, De Wielsche Dreef offers the tranquillity of orchards, the Nederrijn and the open Betuwe landscape. Two completely different environments, yet both share the same invitation: to take a break in nature, in a setting that suits your preferred way of holidaying.
