The Weddermeer next door
The park is located right next to the Weddermeer, a paradise for lovers of water sports and relaxation on or near the water. In the summer you can go kneeboarding, tube sailing or take an exciting trip on the banana boat. This lake is also an attraction for carp anglers all year round.
Luxury on the water
All accommodation is located around the park's water feature. The covered terrace is the ideal place to enjoy the peace and surrounding nature together with a drink and a snack. For certain types, the outdoor area is also equipped with a Green Egg barbecue, extra (outdoor) kitchen and/or a sauna and outdoor shower. Meanwhile, the interior exudes style, with luxurious furnishings and en-suite bathrooms for added comfort.
Surprising Westerwolde
Winding streams in picturesque valleys, ancient forests and historic villages and towns are just a few things that make the Westerwolde region so special. Here you'll find countless marked routes and paths that take you straight through the valleys around the Ruiten Aa, past old monasteries and fortified towns. The Westerwoldepad is a great example; a long-distance path of 62 miles divided into five different stages, it traverses the most beautiful places in Westerwolde.

Come rain or shine, the indoor swimming pool in the adjacent park is open every month, with a large pool and a paddling pool that cater to the whole family.
When the weather is nice, head out to enjoy the Weddermeer, located next to the park. Rent a canoe (at the park) and explore the lake, relax on one of the beaches and take a dip in the refreshing water. Or find a spot along the waterfront and try to hook one of the huge catfish and carp. This is how a holiday should be!
There is plenty for kids to do in and around the park. Enjoy a swim in the indoor pool, canoeing on the lake or playing on one of the beaches. From July to September, the Fun & Entertainment team at the adjacent park provides a varied programme for kids up to 12 years old.
The area around Westerwolde is best explored on foot or by bike. In the stream valleys and along the rivers of the Ruiten Aa, Mussel Aa and Westerwoldse Aa, you can enjoy all the natural beauty that this region has to offer by bike - and you can rent bicycles (including touring bicycles, electric bicycles and children's bicycles) at the adjacent park.
The area surrounding Landal De Wedderplassen, Westerwolde in Groningen, is known for surprising landscapes, old forests and impressive stream valleys. Here you will discover historic sites such as the fortified town of Bourtange and fun family attractions like the Tenaxx estate and Drouwenerzand amusement park. Nature lovers should not miss the UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Lower Saxon Wadden Sea. A varied region!

In the east of the province of Groningen, close to the German border, you will find the small-scale holiday park Landal de Wedderplassen. Here in the nature-rich region of Westerwolde you can enjoy the peace and vastness of Groningen's green landscapes. Right next to the park is the Weddermeer, the place to be for water lovers. Fishing, swimming, water sports - it's all possible here! By bike or canoe (both available for rent at the park) you can explore the old roads, rivers and canals that this region has to offer. Meanwhile, a half-hour drive takes you to the Dollard coast, part of the Lower Saxon Wadden Sea National Park, which is a unique coastal area on the border of Germany and the Netherlands. If you prefer something closer to your accommodation, visit the facilities of the adjacent Villapark Weddermeer, which you can use during your stay. With an indoor swimming pool, tennis court and a restaurant next to the park, there's plenty to do.
