The Schildmeer next door
Villapark Schildmeer is located directly on one of the largest lakes in Groningen - the Schildmeer. Jump off the jetty into the water for a refreshing dip or relax while sunbathing on the beach. Near the park you can rent a SUP or canoe to paddle around the lake. Along the Schildmeer you will find various restaurants and terraces where you can go for a drink or a delicious meal. Fishing enthusiasts can cast their rod in the backyard of their villa on the water.

Explore the area around the park from the water. With no less than 600 kilometres of waterways, there is plenty to discover in the province of Groningen. From the marina, you can head out into nature. You can moor your own boat close to your villa or rent a boat right next to the park.
A trip to Groningen
About a half hour drive from the park you are in the center of Groningen. Climb the Martini tower and look out over the city, visit the Groninger Museum or admire the street art along the art route. The compact city center is also very suitable for a nice shopping spree. For a bite to eat and a drink you can take a seat on one of the many cozy terraces.
