Water activities

Paddleboarding, sailing, fishing or swimming: at the Nannewiid you experience the water your way. The lake is directly adjacent to the park and is free of motorboats, so it is always quiet. Smaller boats (including paddleboards, windsurfing boards, canoes and 'optimists') are allowed, so you can quietly explore the area from the water.

Fun for young guests

Children play on the little beach at Nannewiid or head out onto the water in a canoe or on a stand-up paddleboard. From the leisure beach, you can walk straight into the water, whilst they have fun on the playground equipment in the sand. Dogs are not allowed here. There’s plenty to do in the surrounding area: stroll through the streets of Joure, go on a treasure hunt in Heerenveen or head out to one of the Frisian lakes for a day’s sailing. A cycle ride along the water’s edge or a visit to a local market will also round off your day perfectly.

Swimming in good weather

Some lodges are equipped with a swimming ladder on the jetty. So you can jump straight from your terrace into the Nannewiid for a refreshing dip. Ideal on hot days or if you wake up in the morning craving a splash.
