Summer mountain railways in the region

In summer, enjoy a leisurely journey amid breathtaking mountain views courtesy of the cable cars. With the National Park SummerCard, you can use the Hochalmbahn Rauris free of charge (up and down) to see the gold panning area and a bird of prey show on the mountain. The Wildkogelarena cable car also takes you to the summit free of charge. The Kogel-Mogel adventure arena awaits you here, with its large playground. Then you can experience the fun-packed slide trail! Ten slides between 22 and 53 metres long take you to the Stockenbaum inn. From there, the slide trail bus takes you back to the valley station of the Wildkogelbahn.

Bike adventure in the mountains

On the Kitzsteinhorn, around 35km away, three freeride trails offer adventure and variety for downhill riders. Stretching a total of 12 kilometres and at 1,500 metres of elevation, these are among the most challenging trails in the Salzburg region. If you still need a bit of practice, the weekly trail workshop or a mountain bike guide are just the thing. For a more relaxed experience, try the 270km-long Tauern cycle path, which runs from Krimml to Passau. All sections of the route are easy to master and therefore also suitable for children.
